We had a lovely time here. The caravan was spacious, clean and well equipped.
We had a fantastic view
We did not use the facilities except the pool. The pool itself was ok. But the changing facilities were basic.
An excellent holiday site which I would highly recommend.
Only one niggle which I will point out which is the mattress is plasticky so found it very uncomfortable and hot. Luckily I’d brought a few blankets, so I slept on the duvet and had my blankets over me. Don’t let it put you off booking, but either bring an extra cover or check with reception about the bed situation in your caravan.
Other than that the accommodation was fantastic. Platinum caravan. Super clean with a wrap around deck which was great for chilling out on.
All the Staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made us feel welcome.
Facilities were great for our teenage boys. They used Tennis, table tennis, swimming pool, and crazy golf.
Area is nice and quiet. You can walk to Talland and Polperro but the hills are incredibly steep so you may choose to drive.
Thank you to all the team at Killigarth. We had a wonderful time.
My family really enjoyed our stay, we wished we could have stayed longer. The lady who was on reception really stood out for us and if we wanted to know anything about the local area she was very knowledgeable and this enhanced our stay.
Lovely and quiet mid September although no entertainment on Thursday evening as the compere had a well deserved night off. Grounds are well kept, clean and tidy, bar prices were average overall a good stay.
Excellent place to spend a quality time. Serene and away from all the hustle bustle. The caravan style houses are spacious enough with three bedrooms (one double bed and two single bed). Kitchen has microwave, stove, fridge freezer, utensils (plates, mugs, glasses). The dining area is spacious with a TV. The sofa can turn into a comfortable double bed. So it has a capacity for 8 people.
The holiday park is lovely.
Bad news first, then the good.
The things that we didn't enjoy about our stay was that we paid over £1000 for 7 nights in a 'platinum caravan' and we're very disappointed that it had no decking or outdoor seating, or anything to cover the underneath, just some steps to the door.
Secondly, the kids disco was pretty much none existent. To me, a kids disco is kids songs accompanied by copying actions from the host, dancing etc. Very poor.
It also stated online there was an indoor play area for under 5s but there isn't.
Overall it is in a nice location, there is a shop, play area, arcade, bar, swimming pool. The thing about this place is THE STAFF ARE LOVELY. so kind, approachable, especially the lady at the ice cream bar in the courtyard. Havnt tried the on site takeaway/restaurant so can't comment on that. Lovely walk to polperro very steep but worth it. Despite the lack of outdoor seating/aesthetic/comfort...the inside of the caravan was very clean, and nice. Dishwasher, oven, pots , cutlery etc, fridge freezer, central heating.
2nd time stayed in the area, 1st time at this park. Caravan was excellent, clean & tidy with all mod cons, all working. Only let down was bit dusty in few places & bedroom TV socket was to far away from other wall sockets to allow firetv stick use in the bedroom. This was balanced by there being enough close sockets in living area so could use it with TV there. Also welcome pack of T/coffee making bits with rather nice cookies included on arrival hit the spot... Park is very nice, good play area for kids, tennis courts, small well equipped gym & decent sized indoor pool all kept lovely & tidy - saw zero litter/doggy bags lying around while there. Staff friendly & helpful although little distracted times had contact with them hence 4 not 5 stars. Same with location - it's a great area to explore in itself + base to dive further into Cornwall or & over to Devon's S. Hams. Wouldn't want to do without a car though, days thought would try the buses as service seemed to cover many locations couldn't work out the timetables so just stuck to driving or and walking SWC paths that are just behind the park. Did see people walking the nearby main roads & seemed safe enough on grass verges, even delighted to see horseriders down the smaller local lanes. Didn't fancy walking out on the roads much myself tho since so many drivers seem to speed thereabouts like thier in a Gram Prix.
Be honest didn't realise it was a John Fowler site and having had bad experiences on another JF site elsewhere,we vowed never to use them again but the lodge we stayed in was very comfy, clean and spacious, all members of Staff from reception team who welcomed us, the bar staff, security, cleaners etc etc and even Stripey Charlie couldn't do enough to help out with any issues we had,I hope if they see this review they'll be happy to see that they've all in some way completely restored our faith in John Fowler that much that we have rebooked to visit again next year, again big shout out to Stripey Charlie( and Stripey Jacob )who kept the entertainment going through the holiday, Charlie always seems to find ways to humour most of the holiday guests in his little ways and seems to cope with any problems guest very professionally and was happy to take photos with any guests who wanted it and always had time to chat to guests however busy he was, overall a very enjoyable Stay.
